Our Teachers

Christina Flora

Hello! My name is Christina, and I am a sociolinguist from Thessaloniki with a special interest in language education and culture.

I hold a PhD in Sociolinguistics from the Ionian University, a Master’s in Multilingualism from the University of Groningen, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Ionian University. I have participated in research projects in London and have taught Greek and English as foreign languages in China, the United Kingdom, and Greece.

In my classes, I combine my sociolinguistic knowledge with my dedication to teaching, creating a welcoming, interactive space that brings out the richness of the Greek language.

Maria Koniari

My name is Maria, and I was born in Athens. I graduated from the Department of Greek Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in Linguistics.

Additionally, I hold a Master 's degree in Linguistics from the University of Patras. Currently, I teach the Greek language to both Greek and foreign students, employing tailored methods that align with each student’s linguistic background.

My teaching approach is student-centered. By focusing on each student’s unique interests and needs, we help the student develop essential communication skills and other competencies necessary for their language journey. My lessons are designed to be fun and interactive, often including games, storytelling, and even some Greek mythology to keep things lively!

“Learning Greek is an adventure! Let's explore together and communicate confidently!”

Christina Dimitriadou

Hello! My name is Christina, I was born in Greece and I live in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki.

I hold a BA of the Department of Early Childhood Education and a MA in Educational Administration. I have been working, for the last 12 years, as a kindergarten teacher in a private school in the city, with many years of experience in both post-nursery and preschool age.

I really love arts and books. With my friend Flora Pastaflora, we create a pleasant learning environment that soon turns into game!

Paschalis Philippakis

I am Paschalis and I am a PhD candidate in History at the University of Athens (UoA). I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in history from UoA, graduating with distinction in each.

My interests vary from history -women’s, gender, social and cultural history-, to social and cultural anthropology, critical theory of democracy, gender studies and education. And in the center of it all: language; language as a means of communication, cognition, empathy, and cultural exchange across age, gender, nationality, race and class.

With this mindset and certified teaching competence from UoA, for the last seven years I have been tutoring adolescents (ages 12 to 17) but I have also taught undergraduates in courses on modern European history and U.S. history and, occasionally, I have supervised primary school children (ages 6 to 12).
